Also known as Eyelid surgery, this is a procedure that removes fat along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids, resulting in a more alert and youthful look.

Specifically, eyelid surgery can treat:

The Blepharoplasty (Eye Lift) Procedure
Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper or lower lids, or all four at the same time. The steps in the eye lift procedure are:

  1. Anesthesia: Your doctor will recommend the best choice, whether intravenous sedation or general anaesthetic.
  2. The incision: Incisions for an eye lift are designed for scars to be well concealed. The surgeon may reposition fat deposits, tighten muscles and tissue, and/or remove excess skin.
  3. Closing the incision: Eye lift incisions are usually closed with removable or absorbable sutures, skin adhesives, or surgical tape.
  4. See the results: As swelling and bruising subside, you'll see a smooth, better-defined eyelid and surrounding region, and an alert and rejuvenated appearance.
